    Default spring cleaning

It says that we have 189 members on our site but I believe that to be an exageration. I'm seeing people on the member list that joined 3-4 years ago and have never posted up once. I know of one member (EX-GF) who doesnt even have a bike. She is never gonna get another one either. I think we need to shed off the dead weight and people who go wtf can rejoin if they are really set on it. Its a simple plan, people who have never showed up for a ride or posted up on the threads get cut. Maybe if you cut 50 people 10 of them who actually log into the site just for the jokes and wisdom will rejoin. I am guilty of this on another site for ktm quads. I joined and lost interest. Now i never even go on that site and would not care if they deleted my name from the ranks. I'm just a name thats clogging up their site. With the kind of riding that we do it would suck if one of these nobodys was actually a chp monitoring scheme. There has been a few times when the chp showed up at the perfect time to pace our runs across 253. just my

Yeah but I know you are bored and this will give you something to do besides

I'll come up with a list tonight and send it to you tomorrow. The culling will be based on posts per year and last login vist dates. Let the complaining begin!!!

It is typical that forums will only have about 15% of its active base active. Take a look at Thumpertalk with close to 200k, at any given time maybe 500 are on line out of that there is only about 15% that are actually posting. This is the norm.

We had an influx of members joing when NBSR (Ninny Bike Sissy Riders) pulled the plug. Since then most al went over to SCAM (Appropriate Name) or the other site created abd stopped posting here.

About all we can do is Send an Email out inviting everyone back. From the software perspective we can close the accounts automatically if they have not been on for a specific amount of time.

To drive traffic is best served by word of mouth and handing out NCSR Business Cards

There is a thread about getting your hand out business cards are ask Mellow. It simply is to much work to purge members who do not come back plus purging members is a negative no matter if they are here or not. Low Membership numbers sometimes act as a WFT is wroing with this site it cannot get members.

Personally, I think the entire Moto Forum segment is far to saturated especially in the bay area and people just simply stop posting and move on.

An example is I have AmericanSportRiders - Portal mainly geared to look at Cafe style or the American History of Sport Riding

We have been open for a year almost I have less then 20 members

As a member that has few posts, I think I would have cried if my screen name had been booted around these parts. I have always popped in to see what's happenin, and I didn't have anything to add to many of the threads. Do I see a big chunk of these people at bike night? Yep. Am I on a ride and see these folks, yep. Is the forum just an extension of my riding vocabulary, yep. Would I be upset that I was told that I don't post enough, yep. I'd tell ya that I was busy riding and that's really what it's all about.................just my two cents.
Most of the time if you re-read my post with a sideways grin, it makes more sense! If it doesn't make sense, then

Great points and exactly why purging users no matter what is simply bad form. IMO it is trivial and not even worthy of anymore dialog It is not my call, but what is my call, I wont have any part of it and again IMO doing something like that most certainly falls under the JACKoff syndrome recently displayed at the now defunct web site

Sorry, I didnt mean to offend anybody. Inky I think you are safe at over 200 posts. lol. I was mainly talking about people who joined like 3 years ago and have 0 posts, no ride attendance and have not even logged on since the site was revamped. Alot of these people are members who bought a bike and scared themselves, hurt themselves, or realized how expensive it is to have this for a hobby. I just thought if we sent out a nice e-mail that simply said please respond if you are interested in remaining a member it would keep things current as far as the forum family went. I guess there are somepeople that would like to see this site turn into a huge forum based information super power and there are other people such as myself that thinks of NCSR as a family of friends who love to ride together and then brag, lie, and tease each other about the events that took place during the ride. Inky and R1-limited, I see you both on here quite a bit but we have never meet. I look forward to riding together someday because obviously you are both part of the family, and thats what a site like this is about. Again my appoligies.

p.s. please don't ban me. lol
