    Default group ride courtesies?

So i have recently gone on a few group ride with new people. New folks are good, but there is always that uneasy felling of "how do they ride, and will i fit in." Will I be too much of a hooligan for them? will I be too slow and hold up the group? do they talk more than they ride? Do they show up on time and ready to go.......BINGO!.........and the worst offenders are my friends.

SO this ride was was mostly new people. A gullwing, a busa, a harely, a sm, a crotch rocket and me. what a varitey. So one douche bag show up late, and then procedes to lounge for coffee. Drink up mother fucker, you holding up the show. What a rude fucker. Then after a leasurily 40 minute meet up and coffee session, one of the other douche bags (both of which are friends) has to go get gas. ASSHOLE!. everyone else stopped for gas on teh way to coffee. We were ready to leave. Then the late asshole changes teh plan at teh last minute so he could run an erron. Now the route has changed, and he gets lost. I jsut wasted over 1 hour of time with this shit!

Now I dont mind a leisurely start with coffee and conversation, especially with new people. its good to get to know the other riders. But, being late and hyjacking the ride to run an erron, and then also have to delay the start more to go get gas. come on people. Fucking selfish douche bags!. The worst part is the 2 douche bags are my friends on the ride. I dont ride with them much cause of this. I swear, I am jsut gonna ride by myself all teh time.

So is that too much to ask for. I ended up bailing on the ride just after said feasco above. The funny part is the ride organizer also bailed with me. So I know there are all these group ride rules, which are good mostly, but I wish people would have group ride common courtesy. show up on time, gased up, tire pressure set, enough oil in your engine, wearing proper gear for the ride(weather, etc.) with out any chores to go do mid ride, and ride. If not your a fucking douche bag and never show up for one of my rides. Cause I'll hit your kill switch while wheeling past you and then kick you into a ditch. FUCK OFF!

I have just a few very simple rules I ride by both for street and dirt. #1 ride your own pace. I don't care it your faster or slower than me. I ride my pace and that's it. #2 no one gets left behind. That means we wait at any forks in the road or trails for everyone (I always sweep so I like that one). #3 when it's time to go. We go. If someone not there, see ya!

I am going to have to be the Rule #3 Nazi.

Or maybe I should start a "group rides manors and customs class"

Fuck class!! I like the sound of the kill switch pass with a boot to the ass see ya later fuck-tard lesson. The one that gets me is definitly people that show up late and order a super jumbo pansie ass drink with a flower in it and sit there holding it in front of their fuckin face talking into it like its a fuckin microphone. I get one day a week to ride I want to rack in 7-10 hours of fun. Not listen to some idiot talk about shit that I don't care about.

If they are already late, how do you know they are going to show in the 1st place? If it's time to go, go! If you wait dont bitch about it because your the dumb ass that waited.

Oh the stories we all could tell. Group riding has never been at the top of my list because of the crap Randall mentioned. For decades I preferred a group ride of ONE. A few friends like the NCSR peeps are fine but big rides (NBSR like) get way to out of hand. Oh and speaking of HAND, don't forget "THE WAVE"

I guess I worded it wrong. Should of said they show up at the last minute and order something that takes a long time to drink thus making everybody leave late. Being a group ride your not gonna take a show of hands to vote on leaving them or not so your stuck waiting. Hopefully this clears it up for you. Sometimes we wait for one of the alpha members because we enjoy riding together. Maybe they had bike troubles, maybe they got pulled over on the way. Now if its somebody that's never been on one of our group rides, continuously doesn't show or just joined our site because their other lame ass site got shut down...well we would leave that dumbass in a second.

There were a few rides when we had about 8 of us that went pretty well, but its hard to do with alot of people. Different riding paces, styles and attitudes! We all get there some day, I remember the one ride by the time I caught the group I had to find wire to hold my plastic on to make it home! Riding at your own pace is the best! Never ride past your ability.
