Default I found an interesting post about "The Code"

    Let me set the stage

Apparently a very renowned self aggrandizing (But have to add a very Nice Guy and i like him) but very self had a flat the other day. Well said person pulled off the side of the road, was unable to get the Road Couch on its center stand and waited.

I know this person somewhat, I like him, he is generous and has a huge heart for the motorcycle community. Unlike his evil Agent Smith Counter Part on the Same forum who always checks off his score card for deeds done that you owe him. This man never asked for return nor would.

So anyway, he speaks of "The Code" Kind of like Parlay for Pirates. Well I had to laugh because I do understand what it is he is saying, but his mistake is it is some sort of unspoken Religious order because we all ride. I mean Rrrrrr Its More a set of Guidelines then rules Rrrrr

    Terry
So anyway, is there "A CODE" among "Real Motorcyclists"

I do have some questions, Regarding a flat, WTF is that all about, why did the engineers NOT engineer this simple item that if the rear is flat, a single healthy person could not get the bike on the center Stand

I always stop (Or did when I had my truck) to see if a biker needed help, I normally will do a beep of the horn with a thumbs up or down if they need help. But in this day and age Cell Phones work wonders. So why get pissed off at other riders if they do not stop

That's to bad about the rider. R H is a straight up guy and always goes out of his way to help others. I always stop if I see a stranded motorcyclist. I have ran out of gas a time or two and have had many motorcyclist just ride on by me. I believe in karma, and the ones that don't stop to help will gets their just pay back someday.

i always stop for stopped motorcyclists. always. i offer whatever help i can. once i came upon a woman on a duc that couldnt get going after running out of gas on the main and having to switch to reserve. she stopped in 6th gear and couldnt get the gears to switch while motionless. i showed her how to rock the bike a bit to get the cogs to line up, got her into N and was on my way with a smile (her partner was about 1000 meters up looking back and waiting for her). on the other side of that. i ran out of gas on my way to an endurance race at Thill. was pushing my bike north on the I5 with a vision of a gas station about a mile and a half up. this guy with an empty trailer stops and asks about my prob. i explain the no-gas and have to start a race in an hour deal....he runs to his truck, pulls out a 5 gallon can and fills me up....not just the gallon to get me going....insists on filling me up. he explains he just dropped his harley for some repairs and was heading home when he saw me.

i always operate on the principle of "how can i help"... especially with motorcycles.

i met one of my good friends (and a great client for work) online cause we both owned fzr400's. his had broken down not 4 miles from my house, so i got in my wifes truck, picked him and his bike up, took it to my house, fixed it....we have been great friends ever since.....

good story eric, and good philosophy.

I have to drop an FSM reference here, since Pirates are the chosen people of his Noodleyness. Arrr, we be like road pirates, pillaging and raping the pavement with our 2 wheels, and as such, we should help our brothers to propagate the proper raping, pillaging, and looting of the road. You shall be touched and blessed by his Noodley Appendage for helping other riders. Can i get a RAmen!

I dont know about a proper road code(?) it is surely more of a guide line. IF there were a code, surely it would involve the waving to other motorcyclist, which may not follow.

There is a code. Riders help riders.

We practice it here everyday. You practice it. Look at the replys, stories of getting stranded riders home, strangers that are trusted because the ride, and even ernest conversations on forums with people we have never met. This shared passion crosses many boundaries and grows the code on it's own. I don't know the code. I was never told it. I have never seen it written down. Or even on a tattoo.

So then I guess the code for when you see a hooligan who passed you on the freeway zig zagging, buzzing, strafing cagers later pulled over getting a ticket

I guess the code is to beep your horn and tap your helmet

I almost forgot, I was the recipient of the goodness of the "Code" I ran out of gas at skaggs while riding the husky, and 20 minutes later Hollis, Luke and another rider, stopped and went into town and got me some gas.
