Default new front brake pads ?

Just replaced front pads on my cbr and when I spin the wheel on the stand I get alot of resistance . Sounds like the pads are dragging a bit much . All torques are correct , brakes work great . Although I have only ridden it a few miles . Will the drag on the rotors relax after awhile ? Or could it be something else ? I know all you great wrenches out there have had this happen before . thanks

I have had a couple of times seen std FA/EBC's be a little thick. Not sure what you put in, but it could be a thickness issue, or it can be a caliper issue. Mung in the piston area not letting the piston return all the way?
But it sounds like yours may just be a seating in thang

hmmmm drag could be sticking pistons.

As mentioned before did you clean and inspect pistons. And did you check seals and dust covers on pistons. They usually can do what is described. Most people dont think about the seals on the calipers

Did you bleed the system? If not try that and see if it helps

Get a caliper rebuild kit. O ring dust covers for pistons. Sounds to me they are hardening and creating a stuck pot.

Over the last 2 years i have found that the caliper upkeep is sub standard. I was having issues with my gxxr and stumbled on a post where it was explained how most drag and fade are caused by hardened seals / dust covers on calipers. Almost no one comsiders them as regular maintance but they are and they cure a lot of issues.
