    Default Going the "extra mile"

A tale of superb customer service!
So the story goes like this--I'm getting ready for the legendary track day that is rapidly approaching in June at Thunderhill. The Busa de Bling is in need of a new set of shoes. I take the old girl to be fitted with the spare set that I got at Cycle Gear's super tire blow out last year (pun intended!) The new Qualifiers have been resting comfortably on the top shelf of my garage since the purchase. After having having them professionaly installed (thank you Alan at Sportbike Dynamics),I make the long journey home from his shop, (all of about a mile and a half).
The next morning while admiring "the new shoes" low and behold and much to my chagrin---I discover this! (see below)
I show the picture to Tony aka Toneman (a member "in good standing" at "that other forum" and also one of CycleGear's stellar employees.
He informs me that this "just won't do!" and that I should bring in the tire for an imediate replacement --GRATIS!
Did I mention that I bought these tires last year>
I took the wheel and the "somewhat defective tire" in today and before you can say WTF I left with a brand new mounted and balanced Qualifer!
If you don't know Tony--YOU SHOULD! and if you need parts or gear --I give Tony,Chris and Mario (The CycleGear Team) an unreserved THUMBS UP!
In this day and age of dubious or even non existant customer service--these guys shine! Go see em!

    OK I'm done now!

They have always taken good care of me in there. It's nice to see Tony part of the crew now too.

Thanks, Paul! But, you know, I don't think this was all that out of the ordinary. I mean, I guess the rest of the world would have given you shit and told you to fuck off, but these guys are just - well - the guys!

Dunlop let one get away. You shouldn't be left holding the bag.

P.S. Tell your coke dealer to get the old blades out of the driveway!

Wish I could say I got the same service...............needless to say it was awful........and it involved having tires mounted that I bought there the night before.
I've never gone ANYWHERE and been told it would take a day and a half to have a set of tires mounted. Never mind that I had to speak over all the crickets that were chirping in there(i.e, store was dead)
Sorry, but I give them low scores for customer service.
Dont judge an operation from your arm chair, decisions made in real time are rarely accurate.

A day and a half is typical for us. Especially since there's normally 5 to 6 sets waiting to be done at anytime. We're a parts and accessories outfit, not a mechanics outfit.

Changing tires ain't for everybody. It's likely that whoever is on duty when the "Crickets were chirping" is not fully trained on changing rubber. If someone comes in when it's dead and needs a tire changed, I always jump on it.

If we can't get to someone in time, I always suggest Northbay motorsports. They're 200 yards north and cheaper for mounting.

Also, when you consider we got Paul's turned around in a heartbeat, it's becomes clear that it just depends sometimes. In his case, he called ahead and made arrangements. A very common thing to do.

Anyways, Frog, sorry it didn't go quick enough for you. If you ever wanna try again, my name is Tony 396-2501 cell and 522-1320 at the shop.
