Default Funny thing about modern day plug caps

Started my trek into work today, normally I warm the bike up until I see the temp hit 106, then hit 1st and cruz, meaning its about 1 mile to the freeway, so I am about 2500, 3000 RPM letting the engine get to op temp.

So I hit the freeway onto the SOOOO SWEEEET on ramp at Dunne. I start my turn, lean, off the bike, dropping body position and start feeling the bike, on Apex I start slowing opening her up as 3rd gear is so nice in the on ramp as by the time I hit the slow lane I am doing.... Well I am doing well

This time the Bike Sputters, Back fires, Sputters, Back fires

WTF Great this is all I need, really All I need.

I hit the off ramp at Cochran, head home just as I di leaving never moving past 4k and the bike is fine, feels good, so I rapp on the right wrist, Pufft Blop Spit Ugggg,

I get her home, start looking for loose wiring, broken wiring pinched emission tubes and so on. and here is what I find

Cylinder #3 Plug cap had somehow popped up out of its seated position. On my R1 these snap into a sealed slot and I swear I know I put it in place properly.

    So here is the question.

In the old days when a plug cap had issues or the coil wire ya unscrewed the plug cap, snipped back the wire a tad for clean copper and screwed in a new cap or if the old was good used it. Modern days the Coil is part of the cap assemble so that is not an option. The question(s)

Anyone experience this type of failure?
-- I never have plus I never had a bike react like the R1 did. Its ruuning like a raped ape again. It actually felt like I had to cold of plugs in.

Any Tricks to keep them in place?
-- Or maybe I did not seat it as I thought and after time it just wiggled out

Never had the problem. I have not owned to many bikes with the stick style coils. Worked on few and the coils were hard to remove. I think it was not seated from the last work in the area. Probably won't pop out again.

Silicone spray can be your friend, it lets the rubber boot slide into place easily and it helps seal out moisture. Kinda sounds kinky huh I've never came across this problem before but I have had the internal piece (brass piece with a flat blade slot) come loose and cause a misfire.
