Well as you all know I missed the ride today because I needed to do my 15,000 mile valve adjustment. And to install my new cams, more on that later. So I finish up a quad that was in my way and I start on the SV. I haven't done one yet, and I'm impressed. It went really smooth, everything I had to get to, I could! I checked my valve clearance and it was right in the middle of spec. Woohoo Go Suzuki. As hard as I ride that thing to stay up with all you FAST BIKES I would of expected to change a shim or two. Didn't need a one, I'm a happy camper. I pull the plugs to replace them with new DENSO Iridium models, the stock old plugs look like I just put them in a few weeks ago, I'm stoked. So now it's time to put in the new cams. All of you non SV650 riders don't know the little well know fact that you can install 99-02 650(carbed models) intake cams in the exhaust side and get about 4 hp. I found a pair brand new on ebay for 152.50 delivered. Regular price in about 110.00 each + shipping and tax. So I drop them in after setting up my new timing marks and check the valve clearance. Still just as it was, cool. I get through and button everything back up, grab the gear and go looking for the NCSR people on their ride. Holy shit, I didn't know it was gonna make my front end lighter that it already was. I was coming out of turns on 1 in 2nd and grap 3rd and have the front getting very light in spots it never did before.I think I got the 4 hp I read about. HOT DAMN. It seems to gather RPM's faster too. Oh yeah, over on the coast on a long flat straightaway I opened her up, it ran right up to 130 pretty easily. It was still pullin too. I like the change the cams made to my little SV.
