Randall, I hope your friend gets well soon and starts riding again.
Jimmie, I wear a pair of the Nike compression pants that the athletes wear. It has helped out my long rides, less muscle fatigue. :)

The bicyclist has always pissed me off. I like to ride bicycles, but I get out of the way of cars. I think the signs all over saying share the road clouds some of there minds. They are supposed to obey the same laws of cars, but have the rights of a pedestrian. If you run a stop sign or red light on a bicycle, you should be at fault. If your bicycle cannot do the posted speed, stay on the white line.
I'm so far behind, I think I'm first!

I would love to see a county wide task force for enforcement of bicycles riders. I want them to crack down on there blatant disregard for the rules of the road and ticket them for holding up traffic, blocking the road, running stop signs, and all the other things they do wrong.

If we all complain enough, someone will notice and hopefully do something. I would be tickeled to death to see groups of those spandex douche bags getting tickets from a CHP. I want those douche bags off the road or at least held accountable to the same standards we are held to.
I agree with you 100% Randall. I have been riding a really long time on the street and as far back as I can remember bicyclist have gotten away with doing what ever they wanted. If they are allowed to operate a vehicle on the roadways then they need to be held accountable to the same rules as everyone else. My best ever meeting of motorcycle / bicyclist was when I was coasting down from the top of Mt Hamilton years ago and I came around a turn and met 2 that were side by side in the middle of the road. They never heard me because the engine was off. I had no where to go so I did a near stoppie and sat there for a second before they even saw me. But when they did see me it scared them and one lost control and hit his buddies bike and then went down. I don't want to hurt any of the cyclist but that was just pure enjoyment, seeing some justice being served. So I stopped and helped him pick himself and bike up, he was a OK because of going so slow, but I then asked them what the hell they were thinking when they were in the middle of the road in a turn side by side, they got pissy and said it was they're RIGHT! And I said well maybe next time you'll meet a car who won't be able to miss you 2 and how will you feel about your RIGHTS then, I got on my motorcycle and rode off in disbelief.

Mine are M.S. MX shorts and some other brand, can't remember right now. But they are compression types with shami in the crotch. They help tons, and prevent Monkey butt. One plus is that if it's hot out and you see a good swimming spot you have swim trunks on already, plus they dry fast.

WOW Jimmie, that is sad. I used to get squirted on SMR back in the early 90's. There was lots of tension back then. still is today.

As for shorts, I have some MSR short that are great. good padding. Also some air shorts that have a good ass pad that keeps my tender parts from getting all chaffed. But the key I learned is a good pre ride lube with some a&d or something like that.

There are things called road taxes that we pay for per gallon........where do the bicyclists pay for their road taxes? And what gives them the rights that they seem to wave in our motorcycling faces? How did bikers get the short end of this stick?

I've always considered my license a privilidge to have, but after the quality of the surfaces lately....not so sure how much of that I'm appreciating.

And a side note....the best bicyclers seem to be the motorcyclists. Met a few at the bakery and around some of the watering spots that we all seem to meet at, and the bikers are the fun and seemingly courteous ones. The rest give me the impression that they are living up to a Lance Armstrong wrist band or something.

Dunno.......hope your friend is doing better.

    And Jimmy.....still want that photo....lol....
