Default It's war on the spandex pedal fags.

over the summer, negative experiences with bicyclist has become the norm. These spandex pedal fags are the scourge of sonoma county back roads. I have had a couple of close calls with them. They dont really share the road, they hog it and demand special treatment. they ride 2 wide in the middle of the lane. Cause traffic back ups and are a real hazard cause the only way to get around them is to cross the double yellow.

I have nearly been hit head on from a car tyring to pass them and crossing DY into my lane. They run stop signs, they never stop. I had one guy run a red light and cut me off> I almost locked up the front wheel to avoid hitting him and I had the right of way. Where is a cop when you need them?

I am sick of the double standard. they want to be treated like a motor vehicle but dont obey the rules of the road. They want to ride narrow back roads, but fail to ride single file to the side. They throw things at motorcyclist. I have had energy bars(or something like it) throw at me, been squirted as i pass them. been cut off, and have had them swerve out into a lane to prevent motor vehicles from passing them. I am sooo sick of these fuckers. they get away with murder on the road. ANd they do it with a sense of immunity. They know they wont get ticketed, and are embolden by this.

This last weekend was the fucking last straw. A bunch of pedal fags were riding up this back road, I am traveling at apx 60mph in a 55. i was really crusing, lolly gagging. i see the group and give a little honk to let them know i am coming. Then one douche bag pulls out to pass and it rightin the middle of the fucking road! I was thinking "that was stupid, he just blocked me" And it was at he beginning of a corner. So I slow down and decide not to cross double yellow to pass him, I stay in my lane and split the difference of 4 feet between the DY and him. the next guy passes him and when the third guy come up on him, he swerves out in from, totally blocking the whole lane. my buddy tapped the front brakes and he is down. Said cyclist takes off snickering. mean while, our friend is in the ditch. We did not realize this and kept riding, after about 15 minutes, we stop and wait for him to catch up. He dose not so we back track to find him. We pass the cyclist and he gives us dirty justures. we come apon the accident and the chp and sheriffs are in route. we recover the bike and give first aid.

That was the last straw. The chp said that if he did a report that it would be an at fault for my buddy and that the bicyclist, even thou was an asshole could not be charged. He basically said it would have been better to hit him and let it play out that way if we wanted any recourse for sueing or getting any damgaes out of him ( not in those words) Unfucking beleiveable.

So all my compassion and respect for these arrogant spandex pedal fags is gone. They are now my enemy and a dangerous road hazard. It's war pedal fags! stay off the road.

Agreed 100%. Nice write up. I hate them fuckers with a passion. Get some dirt tires and go use the thousands of miles of trails that the state has set aside for walking and bikeing only.

Start carrying a bear mace canister in your tank bag.

    That'll fuck 'em.
Gonna have a hard time turning you in when they are screaming and clawing their eyeballs out.

We've had some interesting experiences with the Spandex fags as well. Always in the wrong corner at the wrong time on HWY 1 with NO room to move.....sheesh.

    Is your friend okay?

I just got an update, He has some minor road rash on the hip, he messed up his shoulder, I guess a partial seperation? and he had a concussion. He hit his head hard, so I guess it's time for a new helmet for him. The bike had a broke shifter and foot pet, some road rash and bent bars.

Other than that he is ok and recovering well.

Could you identify the bicycle menace and press charges?

Oh please, a 60 year old guy in spandex is not something you take pictures of. On a good note,
I doubled the mileage I could do in one sitting by wearing bicycling shorts, they really do help.
Randall, I hope your friend gets well soon and starts riding again.

you know how the fed give out grants to LEO's for specific enforcement, like DUI check points, illegal drivers, insurance chekcpoints etc, etc,.......and of course the recent enforcement of skaggs spring road. All that enforcemnt come from complaints from locals, accident stats, and emergency responce to that area.

I would love to see a county wide task force for enforcement of bicycles riders. I want them to crack down on there blatant disregard for the rules of the road and ticket them for holding up traffic, blocking the road, running stop signs, and all the other things they do wrong.

If we all complain enough, someone will notice and hopefully do something. I would be tickeled to death to see groups of those spandex douche bags getting tickets from a CHP. I want those douche bags off the road or at least held accountable to the same standards we are held to.
