did you do a trackday today?

did you see me...
Yeah yeah yeah..
Yes, i went to t-hill...and yes i had a fu**ing blast!!!!!!!! It was absolutly the best best day i've ever had. Conditions were pretty good (albiet on the warm side though...) Traffic was light but just enough to have some good dicing action. the Perelli tires were frackin amazing and tire warmers rock. Dave (if you're reading this..) Thanks for making the S4R handle beautifully. And yes, i think i'm over riding it a tad...i'm trying to be as smoooth as possible but i'm simply out of ground clearance. I could jack the thing up but its still the frame from a touring bike.
I only had one "moment" through turn 8, i had it healed over soooo far the shifter touched down hard and popped it out of gear.....at 110mph. I came in to the pits and told Mr. Moss, and he kindly asked me to back down a tad, I did...as I didn't want to was my baby. But it IS TIME for something a little more focused. My boots are worn almost through the toe sliders. (terry, where did you get your mag sliders??)
I kindly and sweetly asked a young (and cute!) gal to use my iPhone as a stopwatch for a few laps, i know, super scientific....the fastest she was able to calculate was 2.11.5 with an average of about 2.15. I know, super scientific lap timing by my cute blonde friend. Hell even if she was off a few seconds its still my fastest ever round that wreched place! And no, i won't be going to A group unless i have a bike with more ground clearance and a more focused chassis.
Dito at GBM.com took fantastic pictures, and i'll post them up shortly.
Im glad you liked the tires Charles! Did you use the superbike slicks? Were they as good as I told you they would be?
I used the DOT tires...i'll be using the slicks on the 11th i think..but the DOT tires were magic. I could change line mid corner..i could outbreak myself (lol) and zero chatter...just smooth grip.
ahhhh yeah....
MAGIC! They made me look like a hero a few times as I went into turn1 a few times, WAY faster than I'd like. Trying to chase someone down and pass going into the corner, being an idiot...lol. (it worked and i'm sure i looked like either A, an idiot or B, a hero...)

i don't know h ow to attach pictures, so i attached a link...if someone can transform that link into a pic that would be dandy
Sounds like a good day. Remember I jacked the rear of bike up? and you lowered it? Thats why I did it. Raise pegs and finish turn better. These kids never listen.
Mag toes sliders are from Alpinestar, any shop can order them from Parts Unlimited.
Yes, Sir. I remember you raising the rear of the motorcycle. What i should have done was raise the front an equal amount as to not affect the geometry. But you're right, it wouldnt finish the corner.. It would tip in nicely, but upon throttle (judicious...) application, it felt as if the rear would squat. The front wouldn't "push" but just not stay planted, and I felt as if I was applying TOO MUCH input upon the bars to keep it on line. If i neutraled the throttle through the corner, as in t2, it was fine, but exiting the corner was tough as it would run wide.
Maybe i could find some 2nd hand rearsets.
