There is a base price for 20 Riders them you can add riders upto 100. So you prepay for slots.

1.That "mandated" extra $5, $10, or $20 saves our state hundreds of dollars in wages and paperwork that it would take to keep track of your extra bike.
    2. Private funding is the finacers option to do what he wants with his own money. You want to spend your money riding, he wants to spend his money on politics.
3.defense contracts is what makes the US the #1 super power in the world. Would you rather roll the dice and see what happens if we don't have the best military? I say give ouir boys anything and everything they could want or need to make their lives easier while enforcing whatever they need to enforce. Troops love cool toys.

The big puzzler for me that somebody can educate me on is...Why does the cost go up for more riders? Seems like there would be a set price for renting a track and the more riders you could sign up for it, the more it would spread out the cost.

So its cheaper for the guy renting the track to only have 20 riders? How much do they pay to rent the track?

Forrest, the track rental story goes like this:

It's a set fee (for purpose of argument, let's say $4,000) to start with.
Then, after there's 20 riders, each additional rider costs say $150, up until 100 riders.
Every rider after 100 costs say $125 and there may be a limit on how many, I forget.

Now, I'm certain that I don't have the numbers right - seems like T-hill might have been in the $5,500 range and Sears Point substantially higher.

Ernie, again, if you're so sure that this is a big money maker, you should file a DBA and go rent a track. Telling me about it ain't gonna make you any $$$ :-)

This, straight from the horse's mouth. Fees for a weekday, during the summer at Thunderhill.

Our deal for 2012 is as follows.
$5250 for the first 20 bikes. $120 per bike over 20 bikes.
    + $50 for waste removal.
+ $150 for the club house if used.

Hosting trackdays is both a pain in the ass and a lot of fun. I've done a half dozen or so, and always either lost a little money or just broke even.

    Thanks, John!

Yeah, I really don't see how these guys make any money. And, the answer is, they don't. I'm sure they have fun and get tracktime, and all of that. But, with that, they get a lot of complaints and BS from rude people and probably end up spending a lot of time organizing and administering without much financial reward.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger. A bit worried about weather, but it's looking awfully dry so far.

I'll be waiting on hotter weather. Don't want to chance it on another episode like the ncsr trackday that got rained out. I love riding when its 113 degrees!! the hotter the better.
